Marcus Ladd: Project Coordinator, Metadata, Exhibit Development
Marcus manages the digital services for the Walter Havighurst Special Collections at Miami University. He has been working there since he graduated from the Library and Information School at the Catholic University of America in early 2013. Before becoming a librarian, he had a previous background of studies in Classics and Medieval History. The Myaamia Collection Online was his first major project as a professional librarian and he is thrilled to have had the opportunity to study the annuity rolls.
Elias Tzoc: Website Development
Elias joined the Miami University Libraries after completing his Master of Science in Information Science degree at the University of Texas at Austin in May 2007. His current/recent work includes: developing and prototyping web interfaces for digital projects; researching for new access points and mobile apps for digital library programs using the jQuery mobile framework and Responsive Web Design standards; researching and publishing on technical issues and open source apps for libraries; writing and co-leading grant-funded projects; and developing web plug-ins.
Jody Perkins: Metadata Consultant
Jody is a graduate of Kent State University School of Library and Information Science. Prior to joining the Miami University Libraries, she was Librarian at the Akron Art Museum where she co-authored and coordinated an Ameritech funded grant project. She has served as co-chair of the OhioLink Database Management Steering Committee/Digital Media Center Metadata Task Force and has recently joined the Steering/Curatorial Board of the BambooDiRT Project - a registry of digital research tools for scholarly use.
John Bickers: Transcription and Translation
John is a senior at Miami University, from the Kansas City area, working towards a Major in History and a Minor in Linguistics. He is a member of the Miami Tribe and, to complement his studies, has worked with and for the Myaamia Heritage Archives of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma both at Miami University and in Miami, Oklahoma, where the Tribal Government is located. In this capacity he has worked in transcribing and organizing historical Tribal Annuity Payrolls and Censuses for the benefit of the Myaamia people.
Lori Chapin: Digitization Supervisor
Lori joined the Miami University Libraries in 2008 as a Senior Library Technician in Technical Services and joined the Center for Digital Scholarship in 2011. She is a 2002 graduate of Miami University with a Bachelor of Arts in History of Art and Architecture. Prior to coming to Miami, Lori worked in industry for six years primarily for CD and DVD manufacturer Asahi Tec in Richmond, IN.
